Who should consider applying?
Individual artists, researchers or arts professionals aged at least 21 by fellowship start; joint fellowships may involve up to three eligible participants
Eligible citizens or permanent residents of India, Pakistan and other listed Asian countries/regions or the United States
The applicant must satisfy the organisation, residency or research-lead conditions published by the funder. An India- or Pakistan-related theme alone does not confer eligibility, and participation by a collaborator does not replace a qualifying lead applicant.
Programme purpose and suitable planning
Individual fellowships support one to six months of self-directed cultural exchange, learning and research in eligible destinations. They are not funding for routine NGO operating costs or academic coursework.
The strongest candidates can demonstrate the actual problem or learning goal, a record of relevant work, realistic project timelines, resources and genuine institutional or community relationships. The exact programme guidelines control whether costs are allowable and what supporting evidence is required.
Application checklist
- Check citizenship or permanent-resident eligibility and age.
- Choose a meaningful new learning destination, with clear artistic or scholarly rationale.
- Create an Individual Account on GoApply and develop a feasible one-to-six-month proposal.
- Submit the application by 10 November and prompt recommenders to file their letters by 16 November.
Restrictions and preparation risks
- University coursework or teaching during the fellowship is excluded.
- A fellow traveling to the US must be able to meet visa and practical English communication requirements.
- Do not confuse the Individual Fellowship with ACC’s separate Organization Grant.
Applicants should not present illustrative results as verified baselines or confuse a programme’s total funding budget with an individual award. Budget and impact claims should be supported by documents and reviewed by a responsible person.
