What Cisco is looking for

Cisco prioritises solutions serving underserved communities that can improve reach, efficiency and impact through technology. Global Impact Cash Grants are intended for programs capable of operating or scaling at national, regional or multinational level.

Eligibility considerations

Eligible organizations should review Cisco’s organizational and programmatic requirements before submitting a Letter of Inquiry. Cisco notes that overhead should generally not exceed 25% and that general operating expenses, individuals, standalone research and several other categories are not eligible.

Application route

The first step is a brief Letter of Inquiry. Cisco uses that screening step to decide whether an organization will be invited to submit a full application.

Review the official Cisco Global Impact Cash Grant requirements and application route.

Should you submit a Letter of Inquiry?

Best fit for: nonprofits and NGOs with a technology-enabled program serving underserved communities and a credible path to national, regional or multinational scale.

Probably not a fit if: you are seeking general operating support, funding for an individual, standalone research, or a local project with no credible technology-enabled scaling logic.

Africads application tips: quantify who is currently served; explain exactly how technology improves reach or efficiency; and make the scaling pathway measurable rather than aspirational.

Before you spend time on the LOI: Check whether the programme itself is fundable

Use the Africads Program Fundability Checker to test the problem, intervention logic, measurable results, evidence and scale story before you decide whether the LOI is worth pursuing.
